Biography:


José Rodríguez Piñeiro was born in Lugo (Galicia, Spain) in 1986. He received the Telecommunications Engineer Degree and the M.Sc. Degree in Signal Processing Applications for Communications ("SIGMA") from the University of Vigo (Pontevedra, Spain), in 2009 and 2011, respectively. Between June 2008 and July 2011 he has been working as a researcher at the Signal Procesing in Communications Group (GPSC) at the Department of Signal and Communications, University of Vigo (Pontevedra, Spain) in collaboration with the company "Bit Oceans Research". His research tasks have been focused on printed documents security, document images processing, mobile processing (especially for document image processing on mobile devices) as well as security in Compressive Sampling schemes.


On August 2011 he taught two special seminars on document images processing at the Department of Electrical Engineering, Chulalongkorn University (Bangkok, Thailand) and the Thailand's National Electronics and Computer Technology Center (NECTEC), National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA) (Pathumthani, Thailand). On September 2011, he taught an intensive course on development for mobile devices at the company "Pumpún Dixital" (Vigo, Pontevedra, Spain), where he has also worked as a developer.


Since October 2011 he is with the Group of Electronic Technology and Communications (GTEC) at the Department of Computer Engineering, University of A Coruña (Spain). His research tasks are in the field of digital mobile communications, especially for high mobility environments.


On November 2012 he was invited by the Department of Power and Control Systems, National University of Asunción (Paraguay), to taught several seminars and conferences. Since then, he collaborates with the aforementioned institution in teaching and research tasks.


On December 2012 he was awarded a pre-doctoral-degree grant "Axuda de apoio á etapa predoutoral do Plan Galego de investigación, innovación e crecemento 2011-2015 (I2C plan)" by the Galician Government and on March 2013 he was a recipient of a "Formación de Profesorado Universitario (FPU)" pre-doctoral grant from the Spanish Government.


José Rodríguez Piñeiro has been a project engineer in several research projects funded by the Galician Government and the Spanish Government.


His research interests also include the topics related to audio (music and speech) and psychoacoustics, such as objective and subjective measurements of perceived speech/audio quality. He has also collaborated in some articles on Galician etnomedicine.
