Biography:

Francisco J. Vázquez Araújo obtained the MS and PhD degrees in Computer Engineering from the University of A Coruña in 2003 and 2008, respectively. Between 2003 and 2005 he worked as a research engineer in the Department of Computer Engineering at the University of A Coruña. In 2005 he was a recipient of a FPI PhD grant from the Spanish Government. He became Assistant Professor in 2007 and has been an Associate Professor since May 2011. Between 2008 and 2009 he was at the Department of Electronic Engineering in the City University of Hong Kong with a postdoc grant from the Galician Government.

While working at GTEC, he has published a book chapter, eight papers in high-impact journals (JCR Q1 and Q2) and more than thirty papers in other journals and international conferences. He has also worked in more than thirty research projects and contracts with the regional and national governments.

His research interests lie in the area of digital communications, focusing mainly on channel coding and MIMO detection and estimation.
